‘Sustainability through Going Green: Opportunities and Challenges for Business’.
Going green is a process of making more environmentally friendly decisions. In the corporate world going green offers employees, contractors, volunteers, and other members the opportunity to influence the green movement. The challenge is to create the correct approach to involve these people, one that includes teaching, convincing, communicating, enabling, supporting, and encouraging participation in the green process. Many organizations are currently caught up in what may be called a green slump, struggling to engage in green projects and making far less progress than is actually required. A reliable measurement and evaluation system will help organizations manage green for sustainability. Thus this conference would be an ideal platform for both national and international scholars, practitioners and special delegates, in supporting and appreciating their efforts in the dissemination of knowledge created through research. We believe that the above carefully selected theme for this year’s conference will contribute to improve the quality of life of the stakeholders particularly in the corporate and public sector organizations in Sri Lanka.
Hence, industry Forum of ICBM 2018 will be focused on “Solid Waste Management Practices” in Sri Lanka with special reference to future business opportunities that can be capitalized by those practices. It will be conducted with the participation of Academia, Industry and relevant government institutions with the objective of making a solid bridge between these three stakeholders to come up with sustainable waste management practices leading to effective social entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka.
