The Business Forum is an essential component of ICBM, designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and foster relationships between academia and industry practitioners. This year, the forum will feature cross-sector panel discussions focusing on three key themes: the Port City Colombo Economic Model, Sri Lanka’s economic recovery strategies, and the adoption of disruptive technologies by Sri Lankan businesses.

In collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, ICBM 2025 aims to enhance the forum’s industrial relevance for both local and international audiences. Distinguished panelists, comprising industry leaders from various sectors, will lead discussions aligned with the conference theme, offering invaluable insights and perspectives.

We anticipate the participation of approximately 250 industry leaders, professionals from the private and public sectors, and academics who will enrich the forum’s discussions as engaged audience members. Following the panel sessions, a networking session and cocktail reception will provide a relaxed environment for attendees to forge meaningful connections and reflect on the insights gained throughout the conference.

Highlight of the event – Case Study Book Publication

The Business Forum Case Study Book at ICBM 2025 is a pivotal publication aligned with the prestigious International Conference on Business Management (ICBM), organized annually by the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Celebrating its 21st year, ICBM remains a premier gathering for scholars, researchers, and professionals in business management, fostering insightful discussions on contemporary issues.

A highlight of the Business Forum is its case study publication, featuring ten descriptive teaching case studies that explore three critical topics;

  • The New Economic Model Represented by Port City Colombo
  • Government Policies and Strategies in Sri Lanka’s Tech-driven Economic Recovery
  • The Disruptive Technology-Led Business Landscape in Sri Lanka

These case studies will provide deep insights into the economic, social, and technological impacts shaping Sri Lanka’s business environment. Launching at ICBM 2025, this case study book aims to inform and inspire a diverse audience including business professionals, policymakers, academics, scholars, and students. It offers practical insights into navigating economic uncertainties and leveraging disruptive technologies for sustainable growth in today’s dynamic business environment.
