One of the main events for PhD candidates from around the world who are just commencing their dissertation work is the PhD Colloquium, which is organized in conjunction with the 22nd International Conference on Business Management by the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The PhD Colloquium will take place at the University’s premises as a physical event on 18th February 2026.

The PhD Colloquium’s objective is to offer a scholarly forum where PhD candidates could get constructive comments and general guidance on their full papers/ working papers/ concept papers. The candidates could present and discuss their research and research plans in the context of a well-known and established international conference, in a supportive atmosphere with other doctoral candidates and an international panel of established researchers. As a result, the PhD Colloquium will offer the opportunity to interact with experts in many business management research fields and encourage young academics to pursue their doctoral degrees.

PhD candidates from both Sri Lankan and foreign universities are invited to submit research papers for the PhD Colloquium. All papers will undergo a thorough evaluation by a panel of reviewers made up of experts in each academic discipline. A discussant will lead an in-depth discussion during the presenting sessions of the accepted papers, and the paper presentations will also be available for comments and recommendations from the colloquium attendees.

Please note that the following information applies exclusively to authors whose papers have been accepted for presentation at the International Conference on Business Management (ICBM) 2026, organized by the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) in collaboration with the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ).

To ensure your paper is included in the Abstract Book, at least one author must register and present the paper in person. Certificates will be issued only to authors who are registered and attend the conference in person.

Please refer to the updated registration payment guidelines below:

  1. Authors from USJ (staff, undergraduate students, or postgraduate students): The registration fee is waived. Undergraduates and postgraduates must submit a copy of their student ID for verification.
  2. All other authors: A registration fee must be paid for each author listed on the paper if they wish to receive individual certificates, regardless of the total number of authors.

Cancellation Policy
